In the video, Evron is narrating the words of a highly acclaimed Israeli architect who has been working for the Israeli governement for many years in planning military bases, prisons and settlements. The architect, who also laid the plans for “Tent City”, commented on questions Evron posed during an off-the-record conversation and refused to be mentioned by name in the video. He exposes the conflicts and compromises an architect is facing while working for the state. Commissioned by Jerusalem’s “Under the Mountain” Festival of New Public Art, Playing a Role was produced in order to be broadcasted on Israel’s Channel 10 news program “London and Kirshenbaum” in August 2012. It is considered to be the first TV report showing footage of “Tent City.”
